Full Version: Steam library in multiple folders - How to install the bot?
RCBot Forums > RCBot 2 for HL2 > RCbot2
Screwtape
My Steam library is spread across multiple drives:

- Main Steam files are in C:\Program Files (x86)\Steam (this is my boot SSD)

- Majority of games are in D:\Games\Steam Library (2TB hard drive)

- Favorite games are in F:\Games\Steam-SSD (second SSD for quick loading times)

- Please note that TF2 and DOD:S are on the second (F:) SSD.

I know this is a complex setup. Even so, I can't figure out how to install the latest version of the RC2bot. I've tried pointing the installer to the specific folders, but it always says the "bot was not installed properly. Check the log." unsure.gif

How do I go about installing the RC2bot?

If this has been asked before, just point me in the right direction. Thanks!

Hey Screwtape,

I'd suggest you try a manual install and launch from steam instead of the launcher. There may be a bug in the installer when using multiple drive locations?

Here are manual dod:s install instructions, and i'd suggest try dod:s first, cause there is an additional step for TF2. This will give you an idea where things should be located, you will need to adapt it for your drive locations. You can use either the rcbot2.vdf (recommended) or the plugin_load command in steam game launch options, but don't do both. You don't need a desktop shortcut. With the newer rcbot2, sv_cheats is no longer required, but it can be changed later, mine is set enabled most all the time for offline play.

This is for winXP, but if you are on win7 then the rcbot2 folder goes in your username folder. You should be able to use about the same method for TF2...

Note: these instructions are for listenserver/client install, not for dedicated server install...

And welcome...

[edit] After you have dod:s working, to install TF2 you will need these additional offsets in the config.ini in the rcbot2 folder, read this topic:
